How to Get Around
Gallaudet University is in a large metropolitan area and there are many options for getting in and around the city.
The city has a great METRO rail system that is safe and clean. The closest stations are Union Station, which is also the Amtrak station, and the New York Ave-Florida Ave-Gallaudet University station--both are on the red line.
The university provides a free shuttle between the campus and those stations.
Safety
It is important to remember that you are responsible for your own personal safety. Taking precautions such as staying in well-lit areas, being aware of your surroundings, traveling in groups, and letting someone know where you are going and when you are expected to be there are recommended for anyone regardless of whether you are in D.C. or in your own hometown.
