Annual Giving

Annual gifts strengthen academic programs, enhance technology services, attract distinguished faculty, maintain a quality learning environment, and provide financial aid to students. In short, annual giving increases the quality and reputation of Gallaudet, therefore, all students, past and present, have benefited from annual gifts.

One of the reasons that your participation is so important is that when foundations and corporations are deciding whether to award Gallaudet grants, they look at the number of alumni, family, and friends who contribute annually as a factor to help them make their decisions. So a modest gift from you would actually translate into helping the University receive millions of dollars!

Many alumni, parents, and friends choose to make their annual gifts to a specific project and commit themselves to a level of support that guarantees them recognition. See below for more information.

  • The President's Circle: Individuals who give $1,000 or more every year are recognized in the President's Circle. These individuals receive pins (as indicated below) to wear proudly throughout the year. They also receive the Gallaudet Today magazine, and are recognized in the Honor Roll of Donors.
    • President's Circle - Diamond ($5,000 or more)
    • President's Circle - Gold ($2,500 - $4,999)
    • President's Circle - Silver ($1,000 - $2,499)
  • The Amos Kendall Society recognizes individuals who give $500 to $999 every year. Members receive the Gallaudet Today magazine and are listed in the Honor Roll of Donors.
  • Laurent Clerc Society, Membership in the Laurent Clerc Society is for individuals who give $250 to $499 every year. Members are listed in the Honor Roll of Donors.
  • 1856 Club, Individuals who have given $150 to $249 every year are recognized in the 1856 Club.
  • Abraham Lincoln Heritage Society, Gallaudet University established the Abraham Lincoln Heritage Society to recognize, honor, and thank the people who made the University a beneficiary through their will, charitable trust agreement, gift annuity agreement, or life insurance policy.   • The Buff & Blue Loyalty Club, Gallaudet gratefully acknowledges the faithful donors who have made gifts to the University every year for the last ten years or more through the Buff & Blue Loyalty Club.
