GUAA & LCCF Awards
GUAA Awards
The GUAA presents two annual awards:

Outstanding Young Alumnus Award
To a young Gallaudet alumnus or alumna who has graduated or left the University within the past 15 years and has accomplished some notable achievement in his or her personal or professional life that brought favorable recognition to the University.

Pauline ``Polly'' Peikoff, E'36, ``Service to Others'' Award
To individuals within the deaf community who have contributed significantly to the community, especially as volunteers.
Laurent Clerc Cultural Fund (LCCF) Awards
There are four annual LCCF awards:

Alice Cogswell Award
To a person for valuable service on behalf of deaf citizens.

Edward Miner Gallaudet Award
To an international or national deaf or hearing leader working to promote the well-being of deaf people worldwide.

Amos Kendall Award
To a deaf person for notable excellence in a professional field not related to deafness.
These awards are presented during Charter Day which celebrates the signing of Gallaudet's charter by President Abraham Lincoln on April 8, 1864.
Nominations for LCCF and GUAA awards may be made by individuals, GUAA chapters, and other organizations. Nomination materials must be sent to the Office of Alumni Relations with the name of the nominee and the rationale for nominating him or her. Additional supporting material such as newspaper clippings, resumes, or a biographies will be helpful and are strongly encouraged.
