Community Service Programs

Community Service Programs provides numerous volunteer opportunities for the community on and off campus. In 1997, the University Faculty adopted a community service requirement for graduation. The University dedicates itself to partnership with the citizens, social service agencies, schools, and governments of the District in confronting the crises generated by local poverty and social upheaval. By focusing on particular geographic neighborhoods and communities within the District, the University can bring its multiple resources to assist with and resolve some of the crucial issues, thus making a measurable difference to a group of citizens.
