Data Warehouse

The Data Warehouse is a copy of transaction data specifically structured for easy query and analysis. It is a vehicle for business intelligence that enables decision-makers within Gallaudet University to have information at their fingertips in a clean, consistent and intuitive manner.

Essentially, the Data Warehouse eliminates the need for separate written reports on institutional functioning which would have to be periodically updated or revised. In this system, revisions occur with each "data dump" into the system. These data can be used for comparisons or trend analysis in a system that has an intuitive information retrieval structure.

Current reporting formats cover admission, enrollment, and student financials. Some examples are enrollment patterns, student performance, number of students in each major, and grading based on class size and class type, and other variables. In the future, reports that  include other student performance indicators will be added.

Access to the Data Warehouse is through the Gallaudet intranet to qualified users. Contact Daryl Frelich, Institutional Data Administrator, if your position at the University requires access to this kind of data retrieval.
