Profile: The Honorable Ray Lahood

Ray LaHood

Congressman Ray LaHood was first elected to the U.S. Congress in 1994. He serves on the House Appropriations Committee and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Congressman LaHood is a native of Peoria, Illinois. He earned a B.S. in Education and Sociology from Bradley University and spent six years teaching junior high school before embarking on his political career.

A few of the awards the Congressman has received are: the Ellis Island Medal of Honor; the Chamber of Commerce's Spirit of Enterprise award; the Farm Bureau's Friend of Agriculture award; and the Guardian of Small Business award.
