Gallaudet University and Clerc Center are working toward a full return to campus this fall with a commitment to a safe and healthy learning and working environment for all of our students, employees and visitors. This effort is an ongoing part of how we are transforming the many ways we work and learn on and off campus that will benefit all of us now and post-pandemic.
The health and safety of our students, employees, visitors and the Washington, D.C. area community remains our highest priority. We are closely monitoring the public health concern related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) through trusted authorities including DC Health and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Experts and panelists will engage in a dialogue about some of the historical and cultural roots of vaccine hesitancy in their communities and share information. Each panel is made up of members of that community.

TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT
To support the health and well-being of students, employees, and our communities, Gallaudet University and Clerc Center requires all Gallaudet and Clerc Center employees, all new and returning Gallaudet students, and all Clerc Center students 18 years of age and older who are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine to be fully vaccinated in order to appear on campus on or after August 16, 2021.
Students turning 18 on or after August 24, 2021 will have 45 days following their birthday to become fully vaccinated.
Exemptions may be requested for medical or religious reasons. Please complete the exemption form.
If you have not already done so, please send a photo or copy of your COVID-19 vaccination card or medical record to email@example.com. Be sure the following information is included and legible: your full name, date of birth, type of vaccine received (e.g., Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson), the date(s) the vaccine was administered, and, for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, whether you have had one dose or both doses.
Vaccinations are available to all eligible employees and students. Please pre-register at this link to be added to the queue to receive the COVID-19 vaccine on campus.
If you have already pre-registered, you do not need to pre-register again. You will be contacted by email if vaccines are available and you meet the eligibility requirements.
The quarantine rules apply to travelers who arrive in Washington, D.C. from abroad or from any of the 50 states other than Maryland and Virginia, as well as to individuals who have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19. Quarantine is not required for fully vaccinated individuals, within the parameters explained below.
*A person is considered fully vaccinated 14 days after completion of a COVID-19 vaccination series (after the second dose of a 2-dose series or after one dose of a single-dose vaccine).
The university offers a comprehensive financial aid package to ensure our education is affordable for every student. Gallaudet’s Financial Aid staff is committed to working with you and your family, regardless of your financial situation. For students and families financially impacted by COVID-19, additional financial aid may be provided. Through a partnership with Apple, to create digital solutions for innovative teaching and learning, Connected Gallaudet will provide every enrolled student with a free iPad Pro, Apple Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil.
Students may also request loaner laptops, wifi routers and webcams through Gallaudet Technology Services.
To fully prepare for online instruction this semester, take the PST90 orientation course. PST90 is a non-credit course that should take you about one to two hours to complete. This training includes a series of short videos and three quizzes with unlimited attempts. You will learn about Blackboard, our learning management system, and Zoom, our video conferencing software. You will also become acquainted with other software to make your online learning fun and interactive.
