Dining/Food Services Approach

  1. All generally applicable COVID protocols apply for dining and food services (e.g. physical distancing, regular cleaning, hand sanitation, etc).
  2. Meals will be taken, at Gallaudet, at the university dining halls and retail foods outlets, under modified processes.
  3. Protocols have been established for the ordering and delivery of meals for students in on-campus quarantine and isolation.

General Protocols

Follow generally applicably COVID protocols during food prep and dining.

Cafeteria Dining

Modify cafeteria/dining hall process to minimize transmission risk.

Food Preparation

Protocols for food service staff, food safety, and distribution.

Quarantine & Isolation

Implement processes for ordering and distribution of food for individuals in quarantine and isolation.

General COVID health and safety protocols are applicable for dining and food services.

Physical Distance

Modify spaces to accommodate physical distancing during meal service and dining.

Regular Cleaning

Regularly clean and desinfect food prep, food service, and dining areas.

Ventilation

Introduce fresh air into dining spaces - or open outdoor dining areas - to the extent possible.

Hand Sanitation

Wash or sanitize hands before and after dining, and during meal preparation.

Masks

Food service staff must wear masks at all times; diners must wear masks in cafeterias/dining halls when not eating or drinking.
