When students begin to express interest in a certain major, usually during their sophomore year, they are encouraged to meet with faculty members/chairperson from that department to discuss about their preferred major. After meeting with the department, and students make a decision about their major, they should meet with their Academic Advisor to discuss remaining general requirements and request a Major declaration form. Students must obtain signatures from the new major academic advisor, the chairperson of the department, and the current academic advisor.
Academic Advising Office will bring the completed major declaration form to the Registrar's Office. Once the Registrar's Office has entered the information into their database and "date-stamps" the major declaration form. After the process is completed, the academic file is sent to the new Major Advisor to track students' degree progress until graduation.
