Ready to take the next step toward a college education?
Make lasting memories and grow in ways you never thought possible.
In addition to academic advising, tutoring and career services, we have many programs that connect you to our diverse bilingual community and help you discover how much more you can learn and do in two languages.
You will also find an exceptional range of accessibility resources, including individually tailored support for students with disabilities, as part of our commitment to a barrier-free education.
If you are deaf or hard of hearing and don’t know American Sign Language, come to campus for JumpStart ASL, our five-week summer immersion program for first-year students. You will learn basic ASL skills and become comfortable on campus. Adventure-based programming will help you develop teamwork, decision-making and conflict-resolution skills—and make lifelong friendships.
International deaf and hard of hearing students whose first written language is not English can prepare for admission to Gallaudet through our ELI. This intensive English program runs throughout the academic year.
Peer mentors for all first-year students provide one-on-one mentoring that will connect you to the campus community and help you discover everything that Gallaudet and Washington, D.C., offer.
ODES offers programs and services that empower students of all backgrounds to achieve academic, career and personal success and contribute to an inclusive campus environment.
Services include audiological testing, cochlear implant services, hearing aid evaluation, assistive devices, speech-language evaluation and therapy, and aural rehabilitation.
