Full payment is required to complete your registration. Payment may be made by check, credit card (VISA and MasterCard) or money order. Purchase orders are also accepted.
Gallaudet employees should refer to section 3.14 of the Gallaudet University Administration and Operations manual to determine eligibility. Eligible applicants should complete an application and submit it with an approved waiver form to firstname.lastname@example.org or bring it to Kendall Hall 104. Please note that a tuition waiver does not exclude you from paying the application, unit, and material fees. The waiver covers only tuition and lab fees and is not applicable for non-credit courses of a recreational or leisure nature.
If your tuition will be paid by VR or your employer, the appropriate paperwork must be received to complete your application. Instructions as to how our office is to bill the authorizing agent must also be included.
Financial Aid is not available for students who are not enrolled in a degree program at Gallaudet University.
The $35 processing fee is non-refundable. A fee is waived for Gallaudet faculty, staff, and currently enrolled Gallaudet undergraduate and graduate students.
Students applying to PST Certificate Program must pay a one time $75 non-refundable application fee.
Check under each course description for test, material or lab fees
An additional late fee of $50 is charged on all registrations received in our office after the registration deadline, which is two weeks prior to the start of class.
A returned check fee of $50 is charged when a check is returned for non-payment. Payment must then be made by money order or credit card.
There is a $5 fee for each add or drop transaction (unless a department has made the decision to change your course).
Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Center for Continuing Studies by the registration deadline for the class, otherwise, no refund will be issued. Processing and material fees are not refundable. Full refunds are automatically processed for courses canceled by the University. Refunds may take up to four weeks to process.
Professional Studies (PST) students are responsible for obtaining a parking permit from the Department of Public Safety (DPS) at the ground floor of Carlin Hall. All unregistered or illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed. See Parking Permits for more information.
Student Identification Cards (Students registering for PST prefixed classes only) Identification cards are $15 and are issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) located on the ground floor of Carlin Hall. Your identification card should be carried with you at all times while on campus. ID cards not only assist in maintaining security, but they also enable you to take advantage of many services and facilities on campus.
Room assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Students may choose between single or double occupancy. Due to the limited number of available single rooms, there is no guarantee that a request for a single room can be honored. If you do not make a selection on the housing form, you will be placed in a double occupancy room. There is a one-time linen fee of $15.00. Only individuals registered for summer programs, 18 years or older or high school graduates, may request individual dormitory housing (no exceptions). No family housing is available. Check out housing/meal plans for more information. An alternative to residence hall accommodations is the Kellogg Conference Hotel at Gallaudet University. They can be reached at (202) 651-6000 or you can make reservations online.
Meal plan options are available to any student registering for a course. The cards can be used to purchase food at the Bison Shop, Market Place, or Kellogg Conference Hotel Bistro.
