At Gallaudet, I learned American Sign Language and English. I also made lasting friendships with students from all over the globe.

I left Riyadh, capital and most populous city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to attend Gallaudet University. By doing so, I went from one world capital to another, from one political system to another, and from one educational system to another. It has been an enriching experience, and I am a better person for it. At Gallaudet, I learned American Sign Language and English. I also made lasting friendships with students from all over the globe. When I return home, I want to become an agent for change and empower my fellow deaf Saudis. Together, we will make a difference.
