VL2 Lab
The Office of Campus Design and Planning is excited to announce the completion of construction of a new 500-square-foot research lab in the Sorenson Language and Communication Center.
The Action & Brain Lab, with electroencephalogram (EEG) equipment, is headed by Dr. Lorna Quandt, a new faculty member in the Ph.D. in Educational Neuroscience Program. The lab joins Gallaudet University's Brain and Language Laboratory for Neuroimaging (BL2; Dr. Laura-Ann Petitto) and the Language and Educational Neuroscience Lab (LENS; Dr. Clifton Langdon). The establishment of these laboratories demonstrates Gallaudet's commitment to strengthening its position as the epicenter of research, development, and outreach leading to advancements in new teaching, learning, and career opportunities for students, and new knowledge and practice for deaf and hard of hearing people and all of humanity.

NEW MSSD STUDENT RESIDENCE HALL
The construction of the new Model Secondary School for the Deaf (MSSD) student residence hall is underway. This approximately 70,000 square foot, 158 student-bed facility will be on the site of the previous Residence Hall "B" (RHB) building, located northeast of the MSSD school building. The three-story building will provide shared common areas on the first floor. The upper two floors will be configured as two L-shaped wings that provide distinctly separate space for boys and girls. The project is scheduled for student occupancy by the end of 2016.
