Therapy Services :
If you are a Gallaudet student, getting services is easy; please click on the button below to schedule an intake appointment or stop by the Counseling and Psychological Services office Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm to schedule an intake appointment and fill out a brief questionnaire. We are on the third floor of the Kellogg Conference Hotel. You can also call our VP phone number: (202) 250-2300. At our first appointment, an intake counselor will meet with you to assess your needs and discuss CAPS services and recommendations. You will then be assigned to a counselor who will contact you to schedule weekly appointments. (More Information)
Please remember that email is not a good way to contact us for urgent situations or emergencies. For urgent matters, you can come to the CAPS office during open hours or call us. In emergencies, please contact DPS at dps@gallaudet.edu, via TTY at (202) 651-5444, or via VP at (202) 651-5555.
Assessment Services:
If you are a Gallaudet student and need assessment services, you can stop by the Counseling and Psychological Services office to be placed on our waiting list. You will need to fill out an online form. Within a few weeks, you will be contacted to schedule an Initial Interview. At this interview, the clinician will explain the assessment process to you and tell you approximately how long the wait will be. You also can get information from the clinician about off-campus referrals.
