Join GIS Mentoring for online Mentor Training
Workshop description: Interpreting, at its simplest, is a series of decisions. What drives these decisions? That’s what a mentor asks. The first of its kind, this online training by GIS Mentoring will prepare Deaf Interpreters to mentor other interpreters using their unique and time-tested “Mentor-as-Guide” approach. The workshop will cover a variety of interpreting topics and how they pertain to Deaf Interpreters. At the end of the training, participants will be able to identify different mentoring models/approaches and philosophies. They will gain the skills and tools necessary to guide mentees through a full mentoring cycle that includes relationship building, planning, exploratory, and development sessions.
