Gallaudet University, the School of Graduate and Professional, and the Department of Counseling are pleased to share that our programs are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). CACREP is an independent accreditation agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. CACREP accreditation recognizes that the content and quality of the education offered by the program has been evaluated extensively and meets high standards set by and for the profession. CACREP accreditation assures that appropriate knowledge and skills are included in the course of study that leads to successful entry into the counseling field. While we are the only counselor training program in the nation to offer specializations in working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, CACREP accreditation signifies our unique status among other highly reputable counselor training programs nation-wide.
