Many Gallaudet mathematics majors obtain summer internships in science, engineering or business. Department faculty and the Career Center help students find internships in Washington, D.C., and throughout the United States and Canada.
A variety of service-learning courses also help students gain experience assisting non-majors with computing, mathematics and statistics.
Within one year of graduation, 100 percent of Gallaudet's recent science, technology and mathematics majors are employed or in graduate school. Learn more about our alumni.
Operations research analysts help organizations investigate complex issues and make better decisions. Many entry-level positions are open to applicants with bachelor's degrees, although some employers prefer to hire those with master's degrees. Employment of operations research analysts is projected to grow 27 percent from 2012 to 2022, much faster than the average for all occupations. Learn more.
Actuaries analyze the financial costs of risk and often work in the insurance industry. Actuaries need a bachelor's degree and professional certification. Employment is projected to grow 26 percent during this same period, much faster than the average. Learn more.
The business and finance field also has opportunities for applicants with bachelor's degrees in mathematics. For instance, employment of financial analysts and logisticians is expected to grow faster than the average from 2012 to 2022.
