The primary goal of Priority Two, “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusive Excellence: Creating a Thriving Community,” of Gallaudet University’s strategic plan is to “address the most critical issues and needs to ensure Gallaudet continues to build a campus climate in which every member of the university community supports each other in feeling welcomed, included, and valued for their unique qualities and individual contributions.”

The Division of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion leads the visioning and implementation of Gallaudet University’s quest for inclusive excellence. Through compassionate listening and intentional cross-campus collaboration, we strive to transform relationships and policies to shape the Gallaudet University of the future. We will achieve our mission by implementing our six-pillar framework of inclusive excellence:
