Brevity. Allow for maximum participation as much as possible, to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to share their thoughts. Only one person can have the floor at a time.
Clarity and specificity. Keep conversation simple, to the point and as factual as possible. Our goal is to reduce the use of rumors and myths and thus, avoid confusion.
Originality. Encourage and appreciate creative thinking. Creativity leads to innovative solutions.
Sincerity. Be real, open and trusting. This leads to others trusting enough to open up, as well.
Tact. Make "I" statements, avoiding "you" or "we." Discourage indiscriminate interruption of a speaker.
Thoughtful talking and listening. Be respectful and listen, so we can better understand and appreciate others, and in the process understand ourselves better. Do not interrupt or attempt to give advice.
