Eligibility Requirements

Deaf Interpreters

In order to be eligible for screening at GIS, individuals must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Hold a Certificate in Deaf Interpreting (CDI) from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf or
  • Hold a Provisional Deaf Interpreter Credential (PDIC) from Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf

Hearing Interpreters

In order to be eligible for screening at GIS, individuals must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Hold a national generalist certification recognized by RID (i.e. CSC, NAD 4 or 5, CI, CT, NIC)
  • Five (5) consecutive years of paid professional experience
