Gallaudet University has introduced a new brand including the tagline: Connect. Discover. Influence. The tagline, combined with the university’s logo that is a visual representation of the Gallaudet’s bilingual mission, forms a new university brand identity.
“This new brand will help us better convey the distinctive elements and value of Gallaudet to our prospective students and their parents,” said President T. Alan Hurwitz. “In addition, we’re in the process of redesigning the university’s website and marketing recruitment materials to reflect our new brand and the pride we have at Gallaudet.”
The university partnered with Frederick, Md.-based Creosote Affects in its rebranding effort and its website redesign. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, vocational rehabilitation counselors, high school guidance counselors, and others made up the more than 1,500 stakeholders who participated in the market research efforts to determine the new brand. From their input, Connect. Discover. Influence. evolved as the tagline.
“At Gallaudet University, students connect with excellent professors and motivated students, discover innovative academics within a vibrant, bilingual community, and influence ideas, conversations, and the future,” said Dr. Genie Gertz, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. “There is no other place like Gallaudet in the world.”
The new brand and tagline will be featured on the university’s website, Gallaudet Today alumni magazine and newsletter, recruitment materials, social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, as well as around the campus on lightpole banners and signage on buildings. The brand launch campaign will be ongoing throughout the fall semester to generate awareness and excitement for the new brand.
