Gallaudet mourns the passing of Agnes...
Agnes Virginia Minor Padden, ’47, passed away on October 3 in Frederick, Maryland. She was 94 years old. Agnes, a Washington, D.C. native, was the first female Kendall School graduate to receive a Gallaudet degree. Upon graduation from Gallaudet, she taught physical education. After raising two children, she joined the Department of English. Agnes was long involved in community affairs. She and her husband, Donald A. Padden, ’45, were married for over 72 years. She is survived by Don, their children Robert Padden, ’72, and Carol; and three granddaughters. President Cordano was honored to speak at Agnes’s funeral on Tuesday. There will be a memorial service on campus at a later date. Godspeed, Agnes.
