Gallaudet University placed a record 64 student-athletes on the 2019-2020 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Scholar-Athlete list. Each student-athlete on the list earned a 3.4 or higher grade point average for the full academic year
Brynn Schmidt and Noah Valencia earned NEAC Scholar-Athlete honors all four years. Since Gallaudet joined the NEAC, only 19 Bison have earned this recognition.
Gallaudet had 20 repeat honorees from last year’s NEAC Scholar-Athlete listings. Five others earned NEAC Scholar-Athlete honors for a third time. Gallaudet had 20 repeat honorees from last year’s NEAC Scholar-Athlete listings. Five others earned NEAC Scholar-Athlete honors for a third time.
Gallaudet’s women’s sports had 45 honorees, and men’s sports had 27 honorees. Eight student-athletes (seven female) played more than one sport.
Women’s volleyball led the way on the women’s side with 11 honorees, followed by women’s cross country (eight), women’s basketball (seven), women’s soccer (seven), softball (six) and women’s swimming (six). Three men’s sports had six honorees, including men’s cross country, men’s soccer and men’s swimming. Baseball (five) and men’s basketball (four) round out the five men’s sports.
Gallaudet’s previous record for NEAC Scholar-Athletes in a year was 61, set in 2014-1015. Congratulations to our student-athletes!
