Gallaudet Technology Services (GTS) advertises a scheduled maintenance schedule so the Gallaudet community will know when to expect potential technology outages.
It is mandatory to have periodic maintenance on technology systems to ensure that they are in good operating condition. With periodic maintenance, GTS will be able to provide secure and stable systems for the Gallaudet community. Some of the reasons why we need to maintain the systems include, but are not limited to:
- Security updates and patches
- Software or Hardware updates
- Installation of new hardware or software
- Rebooting of the hardware
- Fail-over or redundant testing
It is our goal to minimize the potential impact and outage for the Gallaudet community and we will try to use as little time as possible during the scheduled maintenance schedules.
GTS will attempt to schedule the work during the scheduled maintenance times. There may be instances, such as during an emergency, where we are unable to honor and follow our scheduled maintenance schedules. There may be times where the scheduled maintenance schedule is not optimal for the affected areas and we will work with the users in the affected areas to identify the best and optimal time for the work to be performed.
Communicating with the community, or the affected users, is vital and when possible, we will attempt to communicate the scheduled maintenance at least two days in advance before the work commences. There may be rare instances where GTS will be required to do work without advance communication with the community.
The scheduled maintenance schedules listed below applies for all units under Gallaudet Technology Services.
Every Wednesday. The scheduled maintenance is between 5:00 am and 8:00 am, and again from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm.
The first and third Saturday of every month, from 7:00 am until noon (12:00 pm).
