TOEFL ITP level 1 tests are paper based and use 100 percent academic content to evaluate the English language proficiency of non-native English users. All questions are in multiple-choice format, with four answer choices per question. The test evaluates skills in three areas:
The TOEFL will be about 4 hours long (including policy explanation, form completion, subtests, and breaks). Deaf and hard of hearing people get extended time as an accommodation.

Resulting test scores from our test sessions here at Gallaudet University are only valid for consideration by the Graduate Admissions Office at Gallaudet. Results of TOEFL ITP tests administered at Gallaudet cannot be used for admission consideration by other universities or colleges. They also cannot be used for applying for a scholarship. Please note that TOEFL ITP scores are valid for two years after the test date.
