Federal Programs

Federal Student Aid, a part of the U.S. Department of Education (ED), is the largest provider of student financial aid in the nation. We offer more than $150 billion each year to help millions of students pay for higher education.

GradSense

Gradsense.org is a website designed to help students make informed financial decisions about their education and careers. It was launched by the Council of Graduate Schools and TIAA-CREF.

Students can enter information into the portal, e.g., their desired degree type, field of study, and preferred career and will obtain results pertaining to the median debt of students pursuing such a degree as well as expected salary levels in their chosen career.

University Programs

From the Academic Departments

Many departments offer students assistance in the form of tuition scholarships or tuition assistantships. Tuition scholarships can be full or partial. Tuition assistantships provide both a full-tuition scholarship as well as a monthly stipend.

Departments choose outstanding candidates from their applicant pool. Applicants should inform the department to which they are applying of their interest in being considered for an award.

Student Employment — Federal Work Study Program

Federal Work Study (FWS) is a federally sponsored program that enables eligible students to earn income through part-time employment with select organizations, including the university, local nonprofit organizations, and government agencies.
