I've Been Accepted

You just checked your status and you have been accepted.  Congratulations and welcome to Gallaudet! We are looking forward to having you join us.

Email and account activation

The first thing you will need to do is follow the instructions from Gallaudet Technology Services (GTS) on how to access Gallaudet’s technology resources. All of this information is found on GTS’ webpage: http://www.gallaudet.edu/newuser

Your Gallaudet account will give you access to our email system, our student information system via Bison, as well as Blackboard, our learning management system.

It is very important that you check your Gallaudet email address prior to your arrival to receive announcements and critical information.

Let us know of your decision

Before you enroll in any classes or get involved in any campus activities, you have some important tasks to complete. The first step for you is to log into Self Service Center and click on the “Applications” tab. Then click on an application summary button for the program you are admitted to and click on the Admissions letter link to open. Please follow the steps in the letter on how to accept our offer of admissions and submit payment for admission.

Review the Admitted Graduate Students Portal

This portal is the best source for the latest information and updates from the Graduate Admissions Office. It allows you to check for upcoming admitted student events, important information, and provides tips on housing options in the Washington, DC metro area, etc.

  1. Within your Admissions letter, there are instructions on how to access the Admitted Graduate Students Portal.
  2. Once you are logged into the intranet portal (http://my.gallaudet.edu) please click on the link, “Depts & Services” in the upper, left area of the screen. After this, click on the link, “Admitted Graduate Students Portal.” Alternatively, look for it under Key Links on the home page.
  3. You should also click on the “Checklist for New Students” link on the left-hand side of the page and review each section carefully to determine what you need to complete. This information will be helpful to you as you prepare to become a graduate student at Gallaudet.
  4. You should feel free to connect with other newly admitted students, current students, faculty and staff in the Discussion Board.
  5. New to ASL? New graduate students who want to get a jumpstart on learning ASL have the opportunity to take ASL for free during late summer. Check the Portal for more information.
