What do I do if I am a new employee?
1) Fill out a
New Employees Benefits Orientation for Regular-Status Employees
Your new department will be responsible for arranging your new benefits orientation with Human Resources Services. However, you may also contact the Benefits Office through email or phone (202-250-2634 V/VP) to set up an one-on-one orientation. You should enroll in most benefits within the first 31 days of employment; therefore, it is important that you attend orientation as soon as possible. You will also receive an employee ID card from the Department of Public Safety and can sign up for a parking permit, if needed.
If your classification is something other than regular status, you may not be eligible for benefits other than those prescribed by law, or your benefits may be limited. Please contact the Benefits Office for more information.
