New Student Orientation (NSO) is a week-long transition program intended to help newcomers, including first-year and transfer students, prepare for the start of their journey at Gallaudet University.
During NSO you will have time to meet your academic and career advisors, become familiar with Gallaudet University resources, and get a head start on meeting your classmates.
If your first written language is not English, you can prepare for college admission through the English Language Institute. International deaf and hard of hearing students can apply to Gallaudet through ELI, an intensive English program runs throughout the academic year and will prepare you for personal and professional success.
When you succeed, we all succeed. Our Academic Advising staff works with each student individually to help them develop an academic plan to stay on track to graduation.
