Gallaudet University awards merit-based scholarships to deaf and hard of hearing students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and whose scholastic and personal achievements are exemplary. You will automatically be considered for merit-based scholarships at the time of your admission. To be considered for the President's Distinguished Honors Scholarship or the President's Honors Scholarship, you must be admitted to Gallaudet University by May 15. The Provost's Excellence, Dean's Prestige, and Academic Recognition scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis.
You can assess your eligibility for merit-based scholarship awards by using our calculator. Please note that this is a preliminary determination, and not an official award. International, Online Degree Completion program, special student, second bachelor's degree, and hearing applicants are not eligible for merit-based scholarships.
All scholarships are based on academic ability only. ACT or SAT test scores and GPA scores will be ranked from highest to lowest for scholarship review. Scholarship winners will then be notified by the Office of Admissions. Timely responses to offers of admission, and of merit-based scholarship awards, are important because of the limited number of available merit-based scholarships.
