Dear Dr. Norman,
The World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) would like to give its full support and endorsement for the Gallaudet University Museum.
The recent issue of WFD newsletter (April 2012) features museums' exhibit: "Making a Difference: Deaf Peace Corps." Moreover, one milestone was reached recently when the new History Book on WFD was launched in 2011. The book covers the first 50 years of our organisation's history. Jack R. Gannon, whose input we can thank for this piece of deaf history to be written, is one of the honorary chairs of the Gallaudet University Museum.
We strongly believe that documenting and exhibiting deaf history provides further understanding for future generations on the richness and versatility of deaf culture. Thus, it is without hesitation that the WFD fully encourages relevant stakeholders to provide with all the necessary means and support to the museum so that it can continue to prosper in the years to come.
Warm Regards,
Colin AllenPresident of the World Federation of the Deaf
