Dr. beth gibbons has been named Associate Dean of the Graduate School. In this expanded role, she will provide comprehensive oversight of graduate education at Gallaudet University, upholding the standards of the Graduate School and serving as a resource to graduate students, faculty, staff, and administrators on issues regarding best practices in graduate education. An advocate for the graduate community, she will collaborate with the Dean of the Faculty, the five schools, their academic programs, and other key offices to ensure the academic quality of new and existing graduate programs and to develop curricular and co-curricular solutions that meet the needs of the University’s graduate student population and enhance the graduate student experience.
Dr. gibbons will serve as steward of Graduate School resources, including its many endowed funds, and oversee an expansion of the new Graduate Student Resource Center, a one-stop center for graduate students to access the resources they need to succeed in their programs.
Dr. gibbons has served as Assistant Dean for Graduate Education since July 2016. She first joined the faculty at Gallaudet in August 2009 after earning her Ph.D. in school psychology at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is a nationally certified school psychologist and maintains her appointment as a tenured associate professor in the School of Human Services and Sciences. Dr. gibbons will work closely with Tami Santimyer, G-’05, Director of Graduate Enrollment. Both report to Interim Provost Dr. Jeffrey Lewis, ’76.
