8: 20 - 8:50 Continental Breakfast/Meet and Greet

9 am- 9:50 Session 1 Faculty Panel Discussion: Creating a Positive Environment for Equity, Equality, and Diversity Session Facilitators: Usherla DeBerry, Roberta Daniels, Jane Nickerson,  Sharon Pajka, Risa Shaw, Martreece Watson

This session will focus on strategies that faculty use to create a positive learning environment for all students. Faculty will share their ideas and then lead a discussion about ways in which all of us can be more inclusive.  

10 am - 10:50 Session 2 Assessment Data: "How?" "Why?" and "What for?" Session Facilitators: Kari Hansen and Concetta Pucci

This session will demonstrate (1) Gallaudet's history of AACU data, (2) one small hands-on activity of how to use BlackBoard for assessment data, and (3) the Business Program's assessment data. Please bring your laptop to this session.  

11 am - 11:50 Session 3 Faculty Panel Discussion: The Efficiency of Digital Teaching and Learning Session Facilitators: Raychelle Harris, Mark Myers, Kota Takayama, and Gregoire Youbara

This session will focus on experiences and tips from four faculty members, and will highlight multiple perspectives on the efficiency of online and blended teaching in the future.

1 pm - 1:50 Session 4 Faculty Information and Hands-On Session: Creating Assignments and Assignment Criteria that Align with Department and Institutional Rubrics Session Facilitators: Tonya Stremlau and Kathleen Wood

Did you know that general assessment rubrics, such as the AAC&U rubrics, are not designed for grading individual assignments? We'll show examples of how to use general rubrics to make specific assignment criteria, and then consult with you as you do the same. This session is designed for hands-on work. Bring a laptop (or paper and something to write with), a draft of an assignment, and any rubrics you will also use to assess the work for department/institutional assessment.  

2 pm - 2:50 Session 5 Faculty Presentation and Demonstration: Mobile Phone: Teaching, Learning, And Retention Tool Session Facilitator: Adebowale Ogunjirin

This presentation will demonstrate the potential inherent in the TopHat application to reach and engage students, improve students' performance, and give the students tools to improve their grades.  

3 pm - 3:50 Session 6 Faculty De-stress and Relaxation: Self Care and Wellness for Faculty Session Facilitator: Concetta Pucci

Appreciative session focusing on the work you do to support students, with a goal toward better self-care and ongoing wellness.  Wear comfortable clothing.
