The report provided below was prepared for Dr. Angela McCaskill, who served as Gallaudet University's Associate Provost for Diversity and Inclusion during the release of this report, in order to inform Gallaudet's efforts to promote and sustain an ethnoracially diverse undergraduate student body.
Specifically, it discusses the diversity of the applicants to Gallaudet University and persisting students from Gallaudet's freshman class of 2010-2011 in reference to the larger population of deaf and hard of hearing students enrolled in American high schools in 2009-2010, from which applicants to the freshman class were drawn. It goes on to analyze and discuss Gallaudet enrollment patterns for whether there are strategies to suggest for increasing ethnoracial representation.
The presentation offers a overview of the analysis and suggests avenues of future research as well as steps to encourage further diversity.
