The Office of International Affairs (IA) oversees the International Strategic Visitors Program (ISVP). Visitors are always warmly welcomed to Gallaudet University's historic campus in Washington, D.C., a world-renowned institution of higher learning that educates, trains, and empowers deaf and hard of hearing people and those who work with them. Gallaudet also is home to the federally funded Laurent Clerc Deaf Education Center, whose mission is to raise the achievement of deaf and hard of hearing students ages birth-21 nationwide by supporting their families and professionals who work with these students.
Take a Gallaudet University Virtual Tour!
Prospective Gallaudet University students are directed to the tour schedule on the Visitors Center website. Visitors Center tours do not require an appointment. Tours are given in American Sign Language. Please see the Support Services page (click and fill out the 'International Strategic Visitors Support Request') regarding interpreters, and the Admissions Office will contact you. The Admissions Office also assists with student enrollment.
Note:If you have not acknowledged the receipt of International Strategic Visitors Program (ISVP) request form, please inform us immediately at intl.visit@gallaudet.edu
A subset of international visitors represents a strategic opportunity to advance Gallaudet's mission for student recruiting, academic exchanges, and institutional partnerships. Working with the offices of the president and the provost, IA hosts strategic international visitors after carefully screening the numerous requests of this nature Gallaudet received each year to ascertain if special arrangements can be provided. If it is determined that an international visit is of strategic interest to the University, the contact person making the request will be referred via email to intl.visit@gallaudet.edu or to an online form, which can be found under Support Services.
