The International Visiting Scholar (IVS) at Gallaudet University was established to accommodate a limited number of professors, researchers, and other scholars who wish to use the facilities at Gallaudet University each academic year. Gallaudet is authorized by the U.S. Department of State to operate the IVRP program. The Office of International Affairs works closely with academic departments and faculty members to extend its resources on a selective basis in the spirit of institutional collegiality, fostering knowledge, and the exchange of information. The International Special Student Program (ISSP) at Gallaudet University is a study program designed for people from outside the United States who are interested in studying at Gallaudet University for up to one year. Gallaudet is authorized by the U.S. Department of State to operate the ISSP program. The ISSP is individually designed to meet the needs of each person by allowing them to take courses for credit or non-credit (audit) at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. There are also great opportunities for self-directed research. While ISSP is a non-degree program, it may be a way for you to prepare for entering a college degree program later.
