Provost Carol J. Erting, has accepted an invitation to serve as a member of the Commission on Internationalization (IZN) and Global Engagement, which serves as an advisory body for the American Council on Education (ACE) and its international initiatives.
The invitation, extended by Ted Mitchell, ACE president, states in that “…with the Commission’s guidance over the past several years, we have successfully implemented many of the recommendations put forth by the Blue Ribbon Panel on Global Engagement … including developing and sustaining strategic partnerships, assuming a higher profile on critical global higher education issues, and establishing new and enhancing existing constituent services. Your perspective and experience will provide critical guidance as we continue to anticipate the needs of U.S. institutions and expand our reach within a dynamic global higher education environment.”
The invitation was retroactive July 1, 2018, lasting through June 30, 2021. The Commission meets twice annually, communicating updates with ongoing and new initiatives.
Gallaudet is one of 11 universities in the 2017-2019 IZN cohort. Only 127 institutions of higher learning have sought ACE’s expertise since IZN’s inception in 2002.
