DPS encourages you to use the Traffic Violation Appeals Form to dispute infractions that have occurred on campus. This form must be completed and submitted to the Department of Public Safety within seven calendar days of the date of the ticket. Appeals received after seven days will not be considered. The appellant will be notified in writing of the disposition of the appeal.
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is charged with protecting the Gallaudet community and enforcing the law, DPS strives to provide the highest level of customer service possible. We value the opinions of the community we serve in order to help us achieve this standard. By providing your input — positive or negative — we can learn where our efforts are hitting the mark and where we might need to focus our attention to improve the service we provide to our community members and visitors we encounter.
If you believe you have been subjected to, or witnessed, DPS misconduct of any type on campus, DPS encourages you to report the incident using the DPS Commendation / Complaint Feedback Form. Once a completed, signed complaint form is received, it will be reviewed for investigation.
Whether filing a commendation or complaint, the following information is very important when describing the event:
