Gallaudet offers a wide variety of world-class graduate programs that are designed to help students develop practical and highly marketable professional skills and prepare for further graduate degrees. Please refer the Graduate Programs page for the list of graduate programs offered by Gallaudet.

Preparing to Apply

All prospective graduate students should apply using the online graduate application. Review your Graduate Program page carefully to be aware of all application requirements. 

Your application is available to the program for review as soon as you submit your application form. However, an admission decision will not be made until your application file is complete, including all of the required supplemental materials.

Common Questions

The Director of Graduate Enrollment makes the final decision after receiving an admission recommendation from the department of your graduate program.

The American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI) is a holistic language proficiency evaluation and an admissions requirement for several of our graduate programs.

To check to see if your recommendations, scores, and transcripts have been received or the status of your decision, visit your Application Status page.

Applicants should request their school send their electronic transcript directly to your Admissions Counselor.

Yes, you will need to send the official transcripts of all undergraduate study, including evidence of having received a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, as part of your application. Those applying during their final undergraduate year are required to submit a final transcript after completion of their bachelor’s degree and before enrolling in their first semester of graduate study. Evidence of having previously earned a graduate degree may also be required by certain graduate programs.

Yes, all transcripts submitted to the Graduate School need to be in English. International applicants are required to provide their transcript through a credential verification service for us to receive an official transcript in English and converted to the USA grading system. Keep in mind that any transcript we receive must include individual courses and grades earned for each course.

Even if the degree has not yet been conferred when you are offered admission at Gallaudet, you must submit official transcripts and certified documents showing all degrees conferred as soon as they become available.

Graduate students can obtain aid from the following major sources:

  • Perkins or Stafford student loans
  • Scholarships
  • Vocational Rehabilitation

You can apply for student financial aid by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Completing the FAFSA is the first step toward getting federal aid for college, career school, or graduate school.
