Gallaudet University's Student Success programs work in partnership with key offices across campus to provide student academic, career and psycho-social support. The office of Student Success provides the following:

  • JumpStart: ASL - 4-week summer program for students new to ASL
  • Orientation Programs
    • New Student Orientation for all new and transfer undergraduate students (offered at the start of each Fall and Spring term).
    • Family Orientation for family members of new students (offered at the start of each Fall term).
  • Student Success Coaching - professional student success coaches dedicated to providing academic and career guidance and support to all students.
  • Peer Leadership Programs - leadership opportunities for upper-level students to serve as trained peer leaders in a variety of student success capacities, including peer academic advising, peer career consulting, peer mentoring and other key roles.
  • On-going Student Academic and Career Success workshops and events offered throughout the academic year, hosted by the Success Coaches and Peer Leaders.

  • To welcome and orient families and undergraduate students to the requirements and expectations of the university life.
  • To support students during their transition to the learning and teaching environment of Gallaudet University.
  • To provide on-going academic and social support for students on their academic journey from enrollment to graduation.
  • To provide leadership skills and opportunities to upper-level students in a variety of peer leaderships roles.
