Gallaudet University and Student Success are pleased to offer orientation programs to the parents and families of our incoming students. We know that the start of college is an exciting time not only for new students but also for their families.
We value providing support for students in a multitude of ways and encourage families to attend the Family Orientation Program (FOP). Gallaudet University recognizes the importance of a family's role in their student's success and is ready to answer any questions and provide you with the information and resources to help make your student’s transition to Gallaudet University successful.
We understand that sending your student off to college is a significant milestone, and the transition requires adjustment. The Family Orientation Program is here to make that transition to students embarking on their careers as a student at Gallaudet University as smooth as possible.
Dates:
Family Orientation Program gives us an opportunity to welcome you and share information about academics, campus life, and how to best support your student. Families will receive an overview of the campus resources to support your student's overall success at Gallaudet. Families will meet faculty and staff from various departments to answer questions about campus/student safety, residence life, student services, and more. Most importantly, parents and families will have the opportunity to meet one another and connect through a shared experience.
Your participation is strongly encouraged. You will acquire a depth of knowledge and perspective on how to support your child’s transition here to Gallaudet.
Registrations:
For more information on New Student Orientation, please refer to the Orientation Programs page.
