Congratulations on your admission to Gallaudet University. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the Bison family. New Student Orientation (NSO) is a required program for all students enrolling at Gallaudet for the first time, including first-year and transfer students. NSO is intended to help students prepare for the start of their academic career at Gallaudet University. During NSO you will have time to meet your academic and career advisors, become familiar with Gallaudet University resources, and get to know your classmates. There is no other place like this in the world; your experience here will be unique and memorable. We are so glad you are here!
If you have any questions, contact us at email@example.com.
The mission of New Student Orientation is to assist new undergraduate students with their transition to Gallaudet University. Through a series of programs and experiences, students will meet their peers, become familiar with Gallaudet University policies, procedures and resources, and participate in a variety of academic and social experiences.
NSO will be offered as a hybrid approach, with one week of online activities, followed by one week of on-campus activities. Students are expected to participate in BOTH the online portion and the on-campus portion.
Online Orientation Modules
The online orientation modules will be available for students to access from Monday, August 16 through Friday, August 20. Students will receive communications about accessing the online orientation modules in early August. These modules will prepare students for upcoming on-campus Orientation activities.
On Campus Orientation
Gallaudet University will require all Gallaudet students and employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to be admitted to campus. For more information regarding the vaccination requirement, please visit the Return to Campus website.

For students who are fully vaccinated: you will be scheduled to move in between August 22-24 in time to join the NSO kickoff on Tuesday, August 24. Your move in appointment is pending confirmation from the Office of Residence Life and Housing. Please do not make any travel arrangements until you receive confirmation.
*You must complete your single-dose or multiple-dose vaccine at least 14 days prior to campus arrival to be considered fully vaccinated.
Family Orientation will be offered online. If you have any questions, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
* Information about move in dates is forthcoming and dependent on DC Public Health and University Public Health protocols.
