New Student Orientation (NSO) is a required program for all students enrolling at Gallaudet for the first time, including first-year and transfer students. NSO is intended to aid new undergraduate students and their families to prepare for the start of their academic career at Gallaudet University.
Our goal is to support you in the transition to the Gallaudet University community by introducing you to various resources and services we have to offer as well as the many involvement opportunities on-campus. During NSO, you will have time to meet your academic and career advisors, become familiar with Gallaudet University resources, and get to know your peers. There is no other place like this in the world: your experience here will be unique and memorable. We are so glad you are here! We hope you take advantage of what Gallaudet University has to offer and that you utilize the people around you for support and guidance as you begin your journey here at Gallaudet University!

The mission of New Student Orientation is to assist new undergraduate students with their transition to Gallaudet University. Through a series of programs and experiences, students will meet their peers, become familiar with Gallaudet University policies, procedures, resources, and participate in a variety of academic and social experiences.
New Student Orientation will be offered in person. Students are expected to participate in the NSO program. Please refer to the NSO schedule for more information.
Gallaudet University will require all Gallaudet students and employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to be admitted to campus.
Currently, there are not any requirements to show proof of vaccination.
