Math Coaches meet with students enrolled in math and general studies courses to provide feedback and better understanding on how to solve mathematical problems. It can be for one time appointment or on-going basis. They must have superior knowledge of the mathematics course they tutor.
Job Responsibilities• Assist students with project organization, and providing step by step on mathematical questions• Capable of providing constructive feedback• Tutor students in a particular math areas• Capable of working independently• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills• Demonstrate punctuality and reliability• Document reports in Starfish• Participate in meetings/trainings• Take CRLA Level 1/Regular Tutor training within a month of hiring
Prerequisites for Employment• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher• Good signing and receptive skills• Have ‘B' or higher in grade in Mathematics and General Studies Requirement 104/203 courses to be tutored
