Undefeated Bison football team wins first...
On Saturday, November 9, 2013 the Bison football team captured their 9th straight win and clinched their first-ever Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) championship. The Bison defeated Anna Maria College, 35-7, before a crowd of 768 at Hotchkiss Field and increased its school-record win streak to 11 games dating back to last season. Gallaudet earns one of the 24 automatic qualifiers into the 2013 NCAA Division III football championship, which is made up of 32 teams and starts on November 23. Gallaudet’s football team becomes the first men’s team in school history to make a NCAA tournament. The Bison are now gearing up to take on Maritime (N.Y.) College on the road Saturday, November 16. The Gallaudet women’s volleyball team claimed its fourth consecutive North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) title Sunday, November 10, 2013 as the Bison swept the SUNYIT Wildcats in straight sets in the NEAC championship held at the Field House. The 25-11, 25-18, 25-8 victory gives Gallaudet (23-13) a berth in the 2013 NCAA Division III tournament as the NEAC champion receives an automatic bid. Gallaudet holds a 3-9 record in the NCAA tournament, including a 3-0 loss to Randolph-Macon College in the first round of last year’s tournament. Tournament pairings and matchup locations can be found on the NCAA’s online selection show at www.ncaa.com. The NCAA tournament regionals will be played Friday, Nov. 15, and Saturday, Nov. 16.
