We are now hosting all of our Academic Bowl competitions online for the 2020-2021 school year due to the unpredictable nature of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Click here to open the .pdf file for the 2021 Interim Academic Bowl Rules and Guidelines manual.
Here are the summary of the new updates:
1) Registration: Registration will take place from Wednesday, Sept. 16 to Friday, Sept. 18. There will be no registration fees this year due to the entire competition taking place online.
2) Ranking Test: All registered teams will take one ranking test from Nov. 30 to Dec. 17. The results of the ranking test will determine the top 20 teams for each Regional competition. More information can be found in the interim Rules and Guidelines manual being used for the 2020-2021 school year.
3) Regional Competition Format: We are now hosting our Regional competitions online via Zoom. We will be using the results of the ranking test to seed teams 1 through 20 to set up our tournament bracket. The tournament bracket will start with an Opening Round then progress through the Round of 16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals/Consolation, then the Third Place and Championship matches. More information on the tournament bracket can be found in the interim Rules and Guidelines manual.
4) National Competition Format: We are also hosting our National competition online via Zoom. The format will be the exact same format as the Regional competition format with another ranking test to seed the Nationals teams 1 through 20.
