Gallery of Diplomas - William Howard Taft
The following are diplomas granted to Gallaudet University graduate and undergraduate students and signed by United States President William Taft who was president from 1909 until 1913.
Diplomas were also signed by Gallaudet President Edward Miner Gallaudet, president of the institution from 1864 until 1910. Gallaudet was succeeded by President Percival Hall in 1910 until 1945.
Until 1911, the school was known as the Columbia Institution for the Deaf and Dumb, the corporate name then was shortened to the Columbia Institution for the Deaf. The institution included both the Kendall School primary programs and Gallaudet College.
