SHORT BIOGRAPHY Dr. Jeff Lewis received his B.A. degree in Psychology from Gallaudet University and completed his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at New York University. He did his doctoral internships at the Lexington Mental Health Center, New York City and at Saint Elizabeths Hospital, Washington DC. Dr. Lewis worked as a staff psychologist at the Counseling Center at Gallaudet before joining the Department of Counseling in 1984. Currently, Dr. Lewis enjoys teaching Group Psychotherapy, Foundations of Helping Skills, and Advanced Skills in Psychotherapy. Dr. Lewis has psychology licenses in DC and Maryland and maintains a small private practice, specializing in individual and couples therapy. He and his wife live in Frederick, Maryland, so their four children can attend the Maryland School for the Deaf. Athletics and recreational sports are an important part of Dr. Lewis's life. He coaches middle school football and basketball at MSD, and serves as Winter Deaflympics Team Director for the USA Deaf Sports Federation.
