SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Linda Lytle came to the Department of Counseling in 2004, from 16 years in a full time private psychology practice in Washington, DC. She currently teaches Family Therapy and Psychosocial Aspects of Deafness, and supervises students in the Mental Health Counseling Program. She coordinates the Gallaudet portion of the ASL, Deaf Culture, and Cancer Control Program (a five-year $1.6 million grant from the National Cancer Institute) that Gallaudet University holds in partnership with the University of California at San Diego.

Dr. Lytle is editor of the 5th edition of the Resource Directory of Mental Health Services for Deaf People. She is also chair of the local chapter of ADARA: Professionals Networking for Excellence in Service Delivery with Individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

Dr. Lytle has previously been a high school English teacher and a school psychologist. She enjoys working with adolescents and continues to see them, as well as adults, in her private practice.
