SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Cheryl Wu is first generation American born Chinese. She graduated with her MA in Mental Health Counseling from Gallaudet University and completed her doctorate in clinical psychology with a multicultural and community emphasis at the California School of Professional Psychology-Alameda, CA in 2002. She is co-founder of Cultural Intersections in Oakland, CA, a non-profit community based program that offers diversity training and consultation to educational institutions and community service organizations and providers as well as support and advocacy services to multicultural deaf/hard of hearing children, youth, young adults, and their families. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC since the fall of 2004. A licensed clinical psychologist, she has worked directly with multicultural deaf and hard of hearing children, youth, and their families for over 26 years in mental health, educational, and community-based settings.
