Thangi Appanah joined the faculty in Fall 2009. Before coming to Gallaudet she was the elementary school principal at the American School for the Deaf.  She has extensive teaching experience in deaf education, general education and special education. She has an Ed.D from Central Connecticut State University in Educational Leadership, Her dissertation focused on the impact of student use of a rubric on the writing of deaf students.
